Makeup Storage?

16 Apr

I have  been looking through blogs and it seems like lots of the popular ones have great makeup storage.  I have been looking for some but cant find any that I liked.  The sephora ones are too expensive. No way I can pay $90 for something that will only hold a few of my makeup.  Any ideas? With all the makeup I have I need more storage for it. And I am willing to buy more than one. I think i will need a few small ones and a big one.

I like these:

I want something with more pizazz at an affordable price. Any help?

Hmmmm…. wish I could help; I like the idea of using a tool chest for makeup.

I actually use something like the top plastic drawers in your picture there! I have two of them stacked on top of each other. They hold makeup, nail products, travel items etc. I use plastic shoe boxes for my nail polish storage. Good luck finding something!

I use a storage unit like the first picture and put the rest of my makeup in a bag – not organized at all!

I use something that looks identical to the top choice. Eyeshadows in the top drawer, face makeup in the middle, lip products on the bottom. And then I have little pencil cups that I use for my brushes and eyeliners/mascaras.

I have one of the ones on the top and I love it! You can see my organization blog post here: http://nvbeauty.blogspot.com/2010/02/makeup-organization.html

I use the bottom one to organize my accessories but it would be great to use for storing makeup as well.

go to Target! I bought mine from there and they are the small ones. I bought mine, one is white which was $5.49 and then another one is green which was on sale for $3.25.

The bigger ones are fairly priced and store alot. i wouldn’t recommend the wheels if you have alot because the container will buckle. I also recommend not getting them for carpet, the wheels break off.

    Hope this helped!

I purchased some stackable drawers from The Container Store for closet storage (the small tint stacking drawers). I supplemented with a portable, stackable plastic container from Target that looks like a traincase, but each tray is entirely removable and can be set out flat on my vanity. Works so well for me, and the entire system cost me less than $50!

I picked up some great storage from Office Depot of all places. 10 drawer organizers, which I use on either side of my vanity table.

Thanks for the suggestion. Does it lock? I dont know if you read my update, but I’m going through a sticky fingers situation with my sisters, and I need something that will lock. the bigger, the better. And under $100 would be great too.

Those a great. I’m so bad about my make-up storage. Right now it’s just thrown into different drawers!

Why not get one of those and bejewel it? Add your own gems, etc.

Second, you won my 77kids giveaway – Congrats! I also sent you an e-mail =)

Lol! I have a lot of makeup. Sephora and Macy’s are always a must when I go to the mall!

Those are some great ideas, I like the top one. Would definitely help keep my bathroom counter neater.

I have the second storage one you have pictured above. I just put it in my walk in closet into a cubby and that keeps my kids from getting into it. As for a locking one to keep your sister out, I am not sure, maybe get a safe?? Thanks for stopping by my blog 🙂

Try your own artwork or stickers or decals for a frugal fix. Also get a lock to keep out invading family borrowers.

These never seem to hold up the best, but it treated with care can do an adequate job.

Those look great. You could always get crafty and decorate them for the pizazz. Keep an eye on the specials as Target also has those on sale often. Big Lot might be a good stop as well.

I actually use the first storage container you have pictured. I have two of them stacked on top of each other in the bathroom. I’ve been using them for YEARS and I can’t imagine using anything else. They’re durable and the perfect size. They’re not “fancy” but they get the job done and you can find them in lots of colors to coordinate a specific look.

Since they’re not terribly expensive I’d give them a try!

You know you call always bedazzle the heck out of it and make it rock :).

I’m bad you don’t even want to see all mine shoved under the cabinet in the bathroom. Far from pretty.
